Q.rough cut moisture
I buy rough milled lumber from a local saw mill. Do you think that this meter would work for checking the moisture content before I start to finish boards to size I will use in making furniture? I need it to read between 6-9% at least below 10%?

Q.Does this work for flooring as well?

A.Thank you for your inquiry. The moisture meter is designed to give an optimal range for moisture for firewood. That being said, if you were to measure the moisture in a piece of wood for flooring use, it would be imperative that you know the optimal range for that application. Typically, solid wood flooring is milled from a single piece of timber that is kiln or air dried before sawing. The moisture content at time of manufacturing is carefully controlled to ensure the product doesn't warp during transport and storage. Without controlling these variables it would be difficult to calculate the proper moisture levels for flooring. We cannot make any claims as to the efficacy of this application. I hope this provides you with some helpful information.

A.The moisture meter uses 4 sharp prongs that are pressed into split face of wood to determine moisture content. Measures between 3% - 40% moisture content, backlit LCD screen with large LCD readout. Requires 1 9v battery (included) and comes with a padded carry case and instructions. This particular moisture meter does not measure humidity.
