Self-Feeding Action
A large vertically oriented hopper, a precisely-angled heavy-duty chipping knife, and a powerful air channel work together to pull branches into the chipping hopper and blast wood chips out the discharge. Most materials will self-feed, so once you drop a branch in your free to get the next one. No force feeding required!

The big opening for branches (19" x 30.5") accepts 5.75" branches with little or no trimming of side branches.
Road Towing
Add the optional road tow package and you can easily tow your Chipper on roads at speeds up to 45mph.
Commercial Grade Clutch
The commercial-grade centrifugal clutch on the PRO XL575 Chipper is similar to those used in well drilling. There is no load on the engine until it reaches 1,600 rpm. If you do manage to find a branch tough enough to slow the engine to 1,600 rpm, the clutch will automatically disengage the engine until it's back up to speed.
Heavy-Duty Flywheel
The key to efficient wood chipping is the rotating mass created by the flywheel on which the chipper knife is mounted. The PRO XL575 Self-Feeding model features a 20" diameter flywheel that weighs a hefty 62.5 pounds. It spins at 144 mph and takes an amazing 40 "bites" per second!
Pro-Spec™ Chipper Knife
Made of high-carbon/high-chromium forged alloy tool steel, our knives hold an edge longer than those on "bargain" chippers.. Still, as with any cutting tool, keeping a sharp edge is important for maintaining peak performance. We recommend keeping an extra on hand so you can minimize downtime.

Pro XL575
I have had this product for almost a year and have spent 50 percent of the time fixing or unclogging it. Would strongly recommend the following improvements. a) Access port which would allow removing clogged debris toward the bottom of the machine. Taking the feed shoot off and with the spark plug disconnected cleaning it out from the output shoot or any other areas which allow access to the debris. Currently a total pain. b) Upgrade the bolts in several key areas to hardened bolts. Inexpensive improvement. c) Install a tension adjustment for the belts. Adjusting via the motor is an extremely poor design. Plus the hitch gets caught on the adjustment bolt plate and the adjustment bolt isn't hardened steel. d). Good luck trying to feed anything over 4 inches into this machine. For the cost of the unit some design changes and adding these simple upgrades would make this a great product. I recommended a totally different manufacturer to a friend who wanted a chipper vice this model/manufacture.
Not what I expected
For the price I expected a little more than what I got. You will spend as much time uncloggin the machine as you will actually using it.
PRO XL 575
I have other DR equipment that has always been top notch. This experience was less than great. I ordered my chipper and was told would ship in 5 to 10 days. It took 8 weeks. I was disappointed that for a $4000 chipper they don't ship with a bottle of oil. It's annoying that you get it, assemble it, and then have to run out for oil. At least my stump grinder came with a quart of oil. That being said I have used it for 6 or so hours now, and so far so good. Runs like it should.
Definitely not what ya pay for
Got the machine last fall. Doesn't self feed. Gets jammed up regularly. Things weren't put together properly when I got it. Customer service expects me to pull the belt pulleys off to readjust a brand new machine. Vibrates very bad. Just has not lived up to expectations one bit.
Great product
I bought this quite awhile ago, got busy with other things. Finally got to use it. I am entirely satisfied. For what it is, it is reasonably quiet. It chips the branches quite quickly.
Q.This unit has very little ground clearance as is. How much more do i get if i install the tow package?

Q.Can this mulch leafs
A.Thank you for your question. This will chip through leaves that are attached to the branches fed into the chipper. We would suggest using one of our Chipper Shredders to mulch leaves.

Q.Looks like this machine is pretty heavy. Can it be towed with a ride own lawn mower?

Q.How does the road tow kit attach to my truck? Does it hook to a ball? If so, what size ball?

Q.How much assembly is required upon delivery? Can one person do it by himself? Can it be delivered in a box truck? Driveway is 1/4 mi long and not made for a 18 wheeler.
A.Thank you for your questions. You have to attach the chute, hopper, tow arm and install the battery. This does not usually take a long amount of time. Two people for assembly is not necessary.
