8 Free Swinging Hammers
Shredding is accomplished by 8 free swinging "hammers" that mash and pulverize materials into a fine organic mulch that's great for recycling into your landscape—either by tilling into your garden or feeding to your compost pile.

Included with your chipper, this durable bag with drawstring fits around the discharge chute and is great for use around flowerbeds, carefully maintained lawns, or any other place where you want to control the discharge and keep things tidy.

Designed for maneuvering around your yard easily, the "kickstand" makes it easy to transition between travel mode and work mode. Just lie it back on its wheels (like a mover's dolly) to travel, then rest it on the kickstand when you're done.

Is under powered & clogs up
I've run it 2 hrs.on two occasions, & with dry or wet leaves it easily clogs up the shredder & must be shut down & take the chute rubber guard off to be able to dig out the plugged mess. How can i return it?
Chip off the old block
Super impressed on first use this past week. Assembly was straight forward. Follow the instructions and don't wing it. I have the manual start version and it started on the first pull. Pretty light and easy to move about the yard to get to the spots to chip and mulch. Easily handled wood up to three inches in diameter. Chipped and shredded for at least three hours and not one hiccup. Highly recommend.
As Advertised
Just moved to a new construction house on a 1.7 acre lot with hundreds of trees. Cleaning up random limbs, and this machine just ate them up. Will get some great use out of this in the upcoming years.
Hard to pull start
With the fly wheel attached to the motor shaft it's very hard to pull hard enough to get it turning. My wife can't even pull the cord out part way. Once I get the fly wheel moving it will chug along and start. Or gets flooded. Once running it's a animal as far as chipping and schreading. Should have gone with the elec start. I've always had good luck with your equipment and will continue to purchase more.
Very disappointed
We gather all the neighbor's leaves and chop them up for mulch in our extensive gardens. Our old shredder died, so I bought the DR 300. It completely pulverizes the leaves and creates a huge dust cloud as I try to shred. With my old shredder 4 garbage cans of leaves would shred to one bag of mulch. With the DR 300 it's about a bucketfull and too fine. And the dust generated while shredding is unbearable. Also it jams when I feed it more than just a small handfull of leaves at a time. It took about 20 minutes to shred 4 garbage cans of leaves, and I frequently had to stop to unclog the machine. With my old chipper I could pour them right in and be done in 5 minutes. This is a huge disappointment.
Q.can electric start option be mounted on the manual start model????

Q.Does the 300 or 400 shred coconuts?
A.Thank you for asking which would be better at shredding coconuts. Here are some differences between the two models. The 300 Shredder has 8 hammers, reduces at a 10:1 ratio and processes a 1/2" max diameter. The 400 Shredder has 12 hammers, reduces at a 12:1 ratio and can process 3/4" max diameter. The best machine would be determined by the size of the coconut pieces going into the machine. If you're looking for a machine to put whole coconuts in, then these would not be a match. Unless they're less than a half inch.
