OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW

Extra 5.0 Ah Battery (or Replacement)

For the DR Battery Powered Yard Tool System.

Get an extra battery with your DR Battery Powered Yard Tool and you can always have a freshly charged battery ready to go and double your run time!

This Lithium Ion Battery weighs just 4.5 pounds but can hold a charge for up to 60 minutes of continuous use (depending on the tool it is used with and the conditions). An LED light shows the charge level with the push of a button. Two USB ports allow you to charge phones or other devices while the tool is in use. A folding handle has a built-in flashlight making it a handy accessory in your garage or shop.

We recommend the 5.0 Ah Battery for the following DR Battery-Powered Yard Tools:

  • DR PRO-21 Push Lawn Mower
  • DR PRO-21SP Self-Propelled Lawn Mower

Recommended Charger (sold separately) is the DR 5.0 Ah Battery Charger

Two out of three are good

This is the third one of these I have purchased. One of the first two would not charge completely. (3 light instead of 4). The two of three batterie's I purchased work great. Also I can’t find out what the voltage of the USB ports are.

255 mil Saw Blade Trimmer Cord

The one thing I will give is a high rating for this trimmer cord, which I bought two big spools. You need good sharp pruning shears to cut through this cord and it does not break in service at least not in the 1 1/2 hours I used it. I will never go through the spools I bought, I think they are 310 feet cut to 11” pieces and you need four piece for the quick release accessory. I will put them in my will.

DR LiPRO 62-Volt Lithium Ion 5.0 Ah Battery

The battery worked great as well as the DR Trimmer Mower, Battery Powered PULSE 62V, Self-Propelled machine. They are quality products, and the trimmer is very easy to clean. This trimmer is so much easier than using a regular trimmer.

    Plenty of lasting power!

Runs my DR self propelled mower much longer than the 2.5 Amp/hour battery. I love the USB jacks so you can use the battery as emergency back up power to charge and power other devices. Works great charges quickly.

PRODUCT Q&A
PRODUCT Q&A

Q.How do I turn off the light on the 5.0 lithium battery? I've used it for years and never had this problem.

A.Thank you for your question. It would be beneficial to call in for assistance. Depending on what is happening, i.e. if it is flashing or just staying on or how many lights are lit would help in troubleshooting the battery. The Technical Department can be reached at 1-800-687-6575.

Q.What is the proper way to maintain the charge in this type of battery? Should I fully deplete before recharging? Will recharging when it still has, for example, 2 bars of power showing affect the longevity?

A.Thank you for your question. Our manual indicates that you should charge the battery after using the product. Also, the battery should be charged for 30-60 minutes until fully charged prior to storage and then once every one to two months. Then again before the seasonal use.

Q.Can I use the 5.0 Ah Battery with any of the tools for which the 2.5 Ah Battery is recommended i.e., the PRO-16 Lawn Mower, and any of the PRO-62V Yard Tools—String Trimmer, Chainsaw, Hedge Trimmer, Blower?

A.Yes. The battery we recommend for each tool is based on operating comfort weight and balance and the runtime normally associated with that tool. But using the 5.0 Ah Battery is perfectly safe and will even double the runtime you can expect from each tool compared to the 2.5 Ah Battery we recommend for them.

Q.Can I use the smaller 2.5 Ah Battery with the DR PRO-21 or DR PRO-21SP Lawn Mower?

A.Yes. While we recommend the 5.0 Ah Battery for the PRO-21 and PRO-21SP mowers, the 2.5 Ah Battery also works and is perfectly safe. However, it will reduce the run time per charge that you can expect on those mowers by about half compared to the 5.0 Ah Battery. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
