The DR PILOT XT Leaf and Lawn Vac is a powered leaf collector designed to work with standard, disposable leaf bags. You can collect up to 50 pounds of mulched leaves in a single bag and, when it's full, it’s ready for curbside pickup or the compost pile.
The DR's unique EZ Bagger Leaf Collection System makes operation easy. Just unlatch the EZ Bagger's cover, place an empty bag on the fold-down platform, crimp the bag around the support ring, and latch the EZ Bagger shut. It’s a simple, fast, and labor-saving alternative to the drudgery of raking and bagging by hand.
The included paper bag caddie carries 10 leaf bags, and you can add an optional second carrier to tote as many as 20 empty bags.
EZ Bagger Leaf Collection System
A uniquely designed system that lets you fill standard leaf bags so they are ready for curbside pickup or the compost heap. The platform holds the bag, the support ring provides a crimp bar for quick installation and the latch keeps it secure.
Ready for Pickup!
When the bag is filled, you simply open the cover, remove the bag, and crimp it closed. It’s ready for the curbside (or the compost pile).
EZ-Bagger Support Ring
Crimp the paper bag around the support ring and close the cover. The cover is fitted with a channel that will hold the bag firmly in place and create a seal to maximize airflow.
3-in-1 Action
Leaves are drawn in through the adjustable intake and fed into the impeller which mulches the leaves before whisking them into the leaf bag.
Leaf Bag caddie
Holds 10 standard leaf bags so you have empties on hand as you make your rounds. One caddie included with the machine. Add another to your order for the ability to carry 20 — enough to collect up to 1000 pounds!
Adjustable Intake
Adjust the intake from 1" to 4". Keep setting high in very dry conditions with short grass or dial it down in wet conditions or when collecting leaves on longer grass.

Optional Hose Kit

Don't buy this model unless your yard is flat and you won't get near tree roots
Once the front suction hood hits anything the snout rubber plug will pop out. If your unlucky you may suck it up and grind it to bits or at least lose it, I did. The wheels are not good unless you have a perfectly flat lawn or are on concrete. The wheels are too small and eventually the bracket holding them will bend, at least on the front wheels. The wheels don't turn so there is always stress on the axle bracket when trying to maneuver. I should have bought the more expensive model with pneumatic wheels with electric start and self propelled.

Nice machine, I’m still learning to use it. Easy to assemble, motor started easily and it seems to work as advertised.
Powerful heavy lawn vac
First, this machine does what it says: vacuums lawn debris and bags it. So, as advertised. Quibbles: 1. I should have spent the extra money for powered assist. The machine really heavy. Also, the wheels are smaller than I would like so impediments in the yard, as small as a large acorn, stop the machine. I had hoped the machine would pickup said acorns, alas, no. 2. The cover for the vacuum hose port will come loose easily. It’s duct taped now. 3. Why are the engine controls (switch and choke) on the opposite side from the pull-start line?

Gambrills leaf vac
I was concerned with original reviews. But this unit performs well. A drastic pull to the left. I think it is a problem with the wheels . Yes as noted in original reviews you get dusted as you use it. Compaction is great , bags are full with little further compaction needed.
Q.Can you change out bags without turning the machine off?

Q.Will your leaf vac work ona graveled churchyard without destroying itself? It needs to pick up typical stuff from desert trees. Al Phillips
A.Thank you for reaching out. If the gravel is loose the machine will suck it up. Over time, this would cause more wear than typical yard usage.

Q.Will the portable vacuum hose pick up Oak leaves?

Q.Can plastic trash bags be used with the PILOT XT?
A.Thank you for your question. We would not recommend using a plastic bag with this machine. It does not allow for proper air flow.
