Commercial Duty Engine
The Kawasaki FS600V V-twin features easy electric starting and fuel-efficient performance. With 18.5 HP (603cc) it has plenty of power to churn through thick grass and brush. A full pressure oil pump ensures smooth operation on slopes up to 20º. 50 State (CARB certified).
Hydrostatic Drive
Two independent hydrostatic wheel drives provide a zero-degree turning radius and virtually effortless maneuverability.
Intuitive Operation
Hydrostatic controls give you fingertip control. Squeeze the hand lever for forward movement, push the thumb lever for reverse. Action is pressure sensitive, so you set the speed.
30” Wide Pivoting Deck
The 30" deck is wide enough for effective clearing but is still very maneuverable. Unlike rigid, fixed decks found on some mowers, the DR deck pivots from side to side, allowing it to follow the contours of rough terrain. This feature minimizes scalping and improves traction.
Custom-Made Blade Spindle
Made of 1.375" thick cast iron with oversized double sealed bearings, the blade spindle is integrated into the deck housing and reinforced for vibration-free performance. Designed to provide years of maintenance-free use (and abuse!).
Integrated Tie-Downs
4 welded steel hooks (2 on each side of mower) provide secure anchor points for transportation.
Tool-Free Drain Hose

Good but could use improvements
Overall this is a good machine but with several design flaws. First I don't understand why these heavy duty brush cutters do not have free swinging blades like a bush-hog rather than fixed lawn mower-type blades. When working in heavy brush and hitting an immovable object (like a rock) one fears for the integrity of the fixed spindle. Next the need to continuously squeeze the handheld controls tends to be tiring (especially the reverse thumb control) after a long day of mowing. Speaking of the hand controls the brush guards can actually pose a safety issue - it is possible to get your hand pinned into the guard by low hanging branches. Also when turning sharply is is easy for one's hand to get caught in the guard as the machine swings around. These guards should somehow be more flexible in their application. Finally the battery hold down is an absurdly poor bit of design. It makes removing the battery a really frustrating chore. It makes one wonder if they did any real world testing at all. You guys can surely do better than that especially with a machine this expensive. There you have it: good but room for improvements.
Good machine but tough work in rough terrain.
This is a good machine but after 4 days of mowing deep weeds and brush in very rough terrain with holes and stumps near a pond I have discovered that it is difficult to maneuver. If a wheel drop into a low spot it is a wrestling job to back it out or find a forward motion that is feasible. If it runs into an old stump it can get hung up and again require a struggle to back up or go forward. It wants to lurch from one side to another as it encounters holes and hummocks. On the good side it can take down small trees and is good at cutting into a tangle of vines and brush. It is very good in tight areas where the ground is firm and not too uneven. I do not regret my purchase it is just more work than I expected.
